This booklet provides a detailed guide for the process of applying to start a Christian Fellowship in a school. There are listed all the forms that are required to be submitted, and samples of how they are to be filled.

The Vision of the School Christian Fellowship

The ministry of the School Christian Fellowship (SCF) has seen many changes in recent years and is facing a myriad of challenges from all sides. There is an urgent need for teachers, parents, students and the church at large to uphold the SCF with utmost love and care. This ministry is close to God’s heart and it has been offered to us by a most gracious God who is concerned about the welfare and growth of our children and youths in our schools.

The SCF is recognized in the School Based Assessment for Co-curriculum. The Ministry of Education circular of 18 March 2011 provides for the setting up of religious societies in our schools. With this new provision, as God’s faithful stewards – we must make a concerted effort to help establish SCF groups in as many primary and secondary schools in our nation as we can. Our children and youths should be given the privilege of being members of a SCF and be released to engage in a powerful, life-changing and exciting encounter with God in a school-setting. The SCF is special because this is where our children and youths can grow in their understanding and experience of God through His Word, prayer, witness and outreach early in life. The SCF also enables Christian students to come together as one family in Christ despite their different church backgrounds. It is a great place for our children to grow and develop spiritual leadership, serving others and reaching out to their friends. The SCF provides a special community and a sense of belonging that are so important in the teenage years of our youths. It gives them a safe avenue to discover their identity in Christ in a world outside the family and church.

A Blue Print for Starting a School Christian Fellowship is also available in Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese. Hard copies are also available and can be ordered via a form found in "How to buy" above.
